Essence of Correctness
Am I too near the past with sighs,
Of times when things were real.
We weren't competing for moral scores
And no one denied their eyes
Or what they could truly feel
Manners ruled and opened doors.
Childhood was a time of revelry
I wonder where it all will end,
Wondering if values return again.
The lesson learned were equity
Or is it that all that good trend
Has just gone down the drain.
